Ann Lee Hussey is a Veterinary Technician who resides in South Berwick, ME with her husband, Michael Nazemetz, DVM. They own Village Veterinary Clinic in Rollinsford, NH just across the border from South Berwick.
She has traveled twice to Venezuela on Rotaplast trips to assist children receiving surgeries for cleft lip and cleft palate. But her real mark has been her travels to participate in polio immunizing campaigns. Her travels have included Egypt, Benin, Mali, Niger, Bangladesh and multiple trips to Nigeria and India. For the last 4 years she has organized and led polio immunization volunteer teams. As a polio survivor, Ann Lee has shared her story and passion throughout the United States and around the world, at numerous Rotary District Conferences, Zone Institutes, PETS, Rotary Foundation Seminars and Rotary club meetings, including the International Institute in Salt Lake City, the Presidential Peace Conference in Nairobi, Kenya, Post-Polio Health International’s Conference in Warm Springs, GA and for Health and Hunger at the Rotary International Convention in Los Angeles.
Internationally, Ann Lee is Chair of the Polio Survivors & Associates Rotarian Action Group, serves on the Rotary Reach Out to Africa Service Associates Subcommittee as a Functional Coordinator for Health Initiatives and as Rotary Zone 32 Health and Hunger Coordinator.
Locally, Ann Lee is a member of the Rotary Club of Casco Bay Sunrise in Portland and will serve District 7780 as their Governor for 2010-2011. In the past she has served her hometown on the Planning Board and Board of the South Berwick Community Food Pantry. She is currently enjoying her fifth year as a Trustee on the Board of York Hospital.
Ann Lee strongly believes one person can make a difference and that it is a privilege and a gift to do volunteer work.
