Past District Governor 2001-2002 District 5240
Brenda Cressey, a Rotarian since 1989 and a current member of the RC of Paso Robles Sunrise, RI District 5240. She served as her districts first lady Governor in 2001-02 and continues to serve in several leadership, advisory and trainer/facilitation roles in her District, Zone, Rotary International and The Rotary Foundation.
Most recently she served a 2 year term as a Rotary International Discussion Leader for the 530 incoming District Governors at the Rotary International Assembly in San Diego and was a Keynote Speaker at the 2009 Rotary International Assembly. She continues to serve as a representative at the request of RI Presidents at many District Conferences and events around the world.
Brenda was selected by her District to serve as their representative to the 2007 Council on Legislation and will serve again in 2010. Following her 3 year term, as one of the 40 worldwide, RI Regional Membership Coordinator for 11 districts in Zone 24 she is currently serving her 3rd year as one of 42 RI Zone 24 Regional Rotary Foundation Coordinator for 14 districts including all of Arizona.
Her leadership as Office of the Chair for the Host Organizing Committee for the LA2008 RI Convention has now led her to serve on the Executive Committee for the 2010 Rotary International Assembly at the request of RI President-elect Ray Klinginsmith and will also be a keynote speaker for the Future Vision Training to be held at the International Assembly as well.
Brenda and her husband Dick are multiple Paul Harris Fellows, Major Donors and charter members of the Bequest and Paul Harris Societies. They have one married son and three healthy and active grandchildren who live in Maine.
Brenda is the recipient of Rotary International’s highest award, the “Service Above Self Award” and The Rotary Foundations prestigious, “Citation of Meritorious Service Award”. Her “Rotary Dream” is to see the end of Polio and believes “The Future of Rotary is in our hands”.
